The Publishing Services eCommerce team is seeking a Junior Business Analyst to join its talented team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to the world of enterprise software applications. If you love writing, problem solving, and honing your technical skills, this is the job for you!
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and energetic individual, who is equally capable of working independently and within a team environment. This is not your standard BS role – this role will allow you to gain experience in many aspects of the systems development life-cycle (SDLC).
The Junior Business Analyst reports directly to the eCommerce Director, and is a part of a close-knit group of talented product and development experts. As a member of Publishing Services, you will be part of a large, talented, unique global team whose primary goal is to support our customers and initiatives.
Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyze, and write business requirements (use cases) for development project

  • Communicate and translate business requirements to the development team

  • Create test cases from gathered requirements/use cases

  • Act as a mediator between the client or requestor and the development team to resolve any issues

  • Aid in implementation of new features and applications with end-users

  • Create and maintain application documentation, release notes, and training collateral

  • Serve as a liaison between the client/customer, eCommerce team, and Publishing Services as an organization

  • Participate in user acceptance testing as needed

  • Assist in providing end-user application support

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science or a related Engineering or Information Sciences preferred) or commensurate post high school education or work experience

  • Intermediate proficiency with MS SQL or MySQL is a must

  • Familiarity with HTML (JavaScript/jQuery a plus)

  • Strong data interpretation, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

  • Clear and concise documentation skills

  • Self-motivated, proactive, disciplined, fast learner and organized with attention to detail

  • Attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Highly flexible and able to adapt well to a rapidly changing environment

  • Able to work independently and within a team environment

  • Able to manage time effectively
