In turn we help businesses verify identity, improve customer acquisition, and reduce fraud. Our industry verticals include financial services, gaming, travel, e-commerce, insurance.
The business is searching for an ambitious Junior System Engineer to maintain, plan, and improve our existing and new systems and infrastructure both on premises and in the cloud. You will be working in close collaboration with our software engineers and data scientists as you take on responsibilities related to internal and customer-facing microservices, and learn about the challenges and trade-offs involved in building and maintaining complex SaaS products.
The Role
General Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement new systems

  • Suggest new ideas and solutions to problems

  • Maintain and constantly improve existing systems

  • Determine bottlenecks in the current systems and suggest solutions to problems

  • Determine issues with business Internet connectivity, WAN technologies, remote access and VPN configuration

  • Participate in security management

  • Participate in general internal IT support

  • Use diagnostic tools to determine deficiencies

  • Suggest and oversee improvement processes

  • Stay up to date with latest technology and best practices

  • Developing scripts from scratch to support ad-hoc scenarios and automation.

  • Aspiring to deliver consistent, robust, predictable infrastructure (DevOps).

Skills & Requirements
  • Full English proficiency. Eligible to work & live in the UK.

  • At least 1 years of professional experience as a system admin, IT admin or infrastructure engineer.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a team of engineers.

  • The candidate must show initiative, self-organisation, discipline.

  • Experience with Distributed Databases, Docker, CI and Chef preferable.

  • Some experience in any of the following is also a plus

  • Kubernetes

  • AWS, esp EC2, ECS, S3

  • CI, Travis preferred

  • Elastic stack

  • Linux, bash (basic scripting)

  • macOS

  • Mesos or dc/os

  • Kafka

  • RabbitMQ

  • MongoDB

  • Cassandra

  • Networking, load balancers, firewalls (Cisco knowledge a big plus)

  • Telecoms: Asterisk, SIP, Polycom

  • Good working knowledge of Git.
