We are hiring a graduate software engineer to help us build and extend our existing Serenity Java BDD automated testing framework in the NHS Jobs team. You will have the opportunity to challenge current concepts as well as explore and implement solutions to new requirements.
The successful candidate will be a Graduate Software Engineer with good grades, a passion for self-development (both technical and soft skills), and a willingness to take on a challenge.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a small, independent team whilst remaining part of a well-established company that have the backing of one of the world’s largest online recruitment advertising businesses. There is the potential for moving over from an automated testing focused role to software development role in the future.
Some of the things you will be involved in:
  • Develop automation regression acceptance tests for the pipeline and API to ensure quality as further changes are made;

  • Developing Selenium WebDriver and HTTP (REST) based tests

  • Improve, extend and upgrade the automated testing framework

  • Conduct Exploratory Testing to discover and raise up to the team considerations and issues;

  • Work closely with Developers to ensure quality through the software engineering pipeline;

Your skills & background:
  • Experience and knowledge of programming – preferably with Java.

  • Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP)

  • Some knowledge of SQL

  • Strong attention to detail

  • An analytical & inquisitive approach

  • Strong communication skills and an eye for detail

  • Proactive approach and a real team player

  • Passionate about working within an Agile environment

  • Self-Starter, proactive and drives through own initiatives to completion

  • Relevant Degree level qualification
